It's already been 4 weeks since we brought Mr. Preston home from the hospital - time has FLOWN by! After 2 awesome weeks of family bonding, it was time for Mike to get back into the swing of things with work. His first week back he had to go out of town to Mt. Pleasant, SC. We litterally made a last minute decision to join Mike on the SC coast at Isle of Palms. Madelyn, Preston, Mally, Allyson, Joyce, and Roger all piled into the Odyssey along with pack 'n plays, strollers, and suitcases! Steph made the trip from Charlotte as well! I must say, this was the BEST car ride (both there and back) that we've ever had with Madelyn! I guess she's finally old enough to find things to keep her entertained. Preston slept just about the entire time (waking/crying only for feedings and diaper changes) - he seems to be shaping up to be a better baby car rider than his big sister for sure! Can't say he slept that great at the beach...but that's no different than what he's like at home. Anyway - Madelyn LOVES the beach, the sand, and the pool! It's hard to tell who had the most fun...Madelyn, Mally, or Mike??? Here are a few pics of the trip! 
On Saturday we ALL headed to the beach - Mike was super dad - throwing the frisbee for Mally and playing with Madelyn! Preston was here, too - he was snoozing in the stroller! 
Mike built Madelyn a water hole in the sand - she LOVED it!! She ran back and forth from the ocean to her hole all afternoon! Gramps and Nana bought her some sand toys - they were a total hit!
This sweet sun hat was a gift from some of Allyson's co-workers. It was too big last year - it's just perfect now! We were all impressed that Madelyn kept it on!

Madelyn is into moving things around - sometimes picking them up and sometimes just pushing/sliding them. This table was moved ALL OVER the house!

If the beach wasn't enough - the little girl (and her daddy) just had to get in the pool too! Oh, and we can't forget to mention that Mally took her first swim in a pool this trip! The night we arrived Mally was overly excited about exploring the house and the back yard. The light was burned out by the pool, so when we walked out back door, Mally trotted on out to explore...and she promptly fell right into the pool! Here are a few pics of Mike and Madelyn playing in the pool.

This is Madelyn giving Preston a kiss! She's definitely showing some jealously of Mommy and Daddy's time, but she's been really sweet to Preston - when she acknowledges him.
